Sad Day

As many of you know Chill was supposed to be home tonight. I was so dang excited for him to get home. I mean I survived an entire month without him and anticipated seeing him today. Well the bad news is he was unable to get on the flight in Moscow. He is flying standby and there was no room for him. DANG!!! So he is currently in Moscow just waiting to see when he can get on another flight. Apparently things are crazy there right now and so he may not even be able to get on a flight until Monday. I keep saying to myself what is another 4 days after I've survived 31! As much as it sucks, I can't imagine how awful it is for him to just be spending hours...maybe days in the airport. Tomorrow is our anniversary so I guess I'll be spending the day with my favorite little dude Carson. I'll just be praying Chill makes it home before I leave for Arizona next Friday :)

On a happier note, Carson is 4 months old today. I have to take him to the doctor on Monday for a checkup so then I can get all the info about him. He is such a fun little baby. His little smile makes me laugh because he scrunches up his little nose. His giggle is the cutest thing I have ever heard. He is still trying to get the hang of rolling over. He has done it a few times, but comes so close all the time. He still does not love the car and tends to spend much of the time crying. Feeding him is a bit of a challenge because he just likes to "snack." He eats a few ounces here and there so I feel like I am feeding him all day long. He loves me to sing to him while we look in the mirror. He is pretty slender still but he has the chunckiest little legs, it is adorable. He likes to go out and about now which is wonderful. I took him to the grocery store and to the mall today and he didn't even complain a bit. This is a big deal because I finally feel pretty normal again. He doesn't take a bottle much, but when he does he thinks he needs to hold it. He has a hard time getting it back in his mouth though if it falls out. I love watching him grab things and put them right in his mouth. It is amazing how fast babies change. I am loving him more and more everyday.

Baby Beans

Our cute little nephew is finally here. Logan Rex Heaton was born on July 24th. He weighed 7lbs 8oz. He has tons of dark brown hair. What a sweet little guy. I wasn't able to be there, but my parents made a quick trip to Arizona for the birth so I got the play by play. Jared (my brother-in-law) was able to deliver him which is awesome. Carson and I are going to be flying to Arizona on August 8th and I can't wait to meet little Logan. I have to get there so I can start my quest of becoming the favorite aunt!!!

Joys:

1. Being married to Chill. Now that sounds all sappy and stuff, but no one can make me laugh like he can. He is so much fun and he is a great dad.


2. Spending all my time with my sweet little Carson. He is growing so fast and is getting to be so much fun. I may be a little bias, but I think he is the cutest baby around!!!

3. My awesome family! They have taken such good care of me and Carson while Chill has been in Russia the past month. I also love Chill's family as well. They are so much fun to be around and are always helping us with whatever it is that we need. I love spending time with both our families.

FEARS:

1- Running out of Gas! Since I was little I have been obsessed with where the gas gage is. I would constantly ask my mom if we were going to run out of gas. I still to this day have that fear and Chill and I did run out of gas once. He said he was glad it happened so that I could see it wasn't the end of the world. To me it was. I thought for sure we were going to die, but we didn't and I lived to tell about it.

2. Spiders! Oh I hate those things. I get all creeped out when I see them. Chill has already been telling Carson that when he is old enough, he'll have to kill the spiders for me when Chill isn't home. Chill tried to tell me one day that spiders have killed more people than cancer and I believed him. He thinks he is so funny!! Ha Ha Chill!

3. Being Home Alone at Night! I got over my fear of being home alone at our house during the day (I didn't really have a choice after Carson was born), but I still hate being home alone at night. This is why Carson and I are spending the nights at my parents while Chill is in Russia.

CURRENT OBSESSIONS:

1. The Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. I am completely obsessed with that dang show. I mean who the heck really cares about King Crab and the people that catch them…apparently I do because I can’t get enough of it.

2. Rootbeer Floats! Yummy! I haven’t had any chocolate for about 3 months because it hurts little Carson’s tummy so I have to find treats that satisfy my sweet tooth and rootbeer floats have been doing it for me! Snickerdoodles come in at a close 2nd!

3. Checking my e-mail and bank account online. Since I am only working a few hours a week, my paychecks are obviously very small so I have to constantly be checking to see where I am. In the back of my head I usually know pretty well where I am, but that doesn't stop me from checking. I also check my e-mail a lot to see if Chill has e-mailed me. I find myself at the computer multiple times a day which is funny because I know Chill only checks his e-mail once maybe twice a week!!!

SURPRISING FACTS:

1. I Have High Cholesterol. Not many people may know this, but some of you might now. It really isn't that cool, in fact my high cholesterol contributed to me having to get my gallbladder out a few years ago. Not Fun!!

2. I worry and almost get anxiety over things I can't control. Let me give you a few examples: When I'm at the grocery store I stress over who has to dust and restock the shelves. Or when I go out to eat I stress over having to clean the kitchen at the end of the night. Um hello, why the heck should I care. I don't have to dust the shelves or clean the kitchen so why worry about it. I spend a lot of time thinking and stressing over things like that.

3. I have some graphite in my knee that has been there since 7th grade. I somehow fell off the couch as I was running to get the phone and landed on a pencil. It stuck in my knee and we couldn't get it all out. I just left it there and you can still see it. Chill really wants to put his skills to work, cut it out, and stitch it up. Maybe I should let him.

Over the River and Through the Woods

Yesterday we took a little trip to my grandma's house with my mom and my sister Mindi. The drive wasn't too bad, but Carson did scream for about 20 minutes on the way there, and 20 minutes on the way back. Poor little guy just doesn't love his car seat. It's rough, but hopefully some day he'll grow out of it. Other than the crying in the car he had a really good day. We had a great time visiting with grandma and eating pizza from our favorite little pizza place in Montpelier, Idaho, Studebakers. It is so fun to cruise around her little town because we have so many great memories there. Grandma has lived there the entire time we have grown up so we have made many trips to her house. We also were able to visit with Aunt Helen, Uncle Al, Marsha, and my best friend Shell and Jordan in Logan. It was a quick short trip but we had a great time.

Update on Chill..
Chill is still doing great. He is really enjoying himself and his trip is almost over. (9 days, but who's counting). He is working in the Cancer Ward this week which I'm sure he is loving. He has been able to go to the beach, to a museum, and he got to shoot an AK-47. He sounds like he is playing more than working. Ha Ha. We were able to talk to him over Skype on Saturday night. It was so fun to see him and talk to him. A missionary couple over there invited him over to use their computer so we could do that. I love modern technology. I'm sure Chill will have a lot more exciting things to say when he gets home, but that is a little update.

Sunday Dinner

Carson and I took a little drive to Lehi yesterday for Sunday dinner to visit Chill's parents. We hadn't been there for a few weeks. Claudia invited us to dinner so I packed Carson up and off we went. We had a great time. I will say that hanging out with Chill's family really made me realize how much I miss him. I've been trying to stay really busy to pass the time and I think it is working. We only have about 16 more days until Chill gets home. Happy Days!!! Anyway it was really fun to hang out with Chill's family and eat yummy food. Carson was such a happy boy which made it even better. He even did pretty well on the car ride. He did scream on the way home for about 10 minutes, but then he fell fast asleep. He's getting to be a good little boy. He is the cutest kid ever and I just love him so much. So, if you couldn't understand that, it's because the doctor in this photo wrote it. Yesterday it was his wife's birthday, so we celebrated, pretty much the same way we celebrate back home. We went to Hancock and then out to eat. We had some shishkabob's (Great!)and an Armenian dish (Dolmy, it was alright). The theatre was just like one in America, in the middle of a way nice mall. I forgot my camera, so I don't have a picutre, but stef would have loved it.

Stef gave a pretty good update. Everything is going great. I have the girls that help me get around town and cook me food. Anyways, I'm doing really well, and having a great time, helping with surguries, ultrasounds and endoscopies.

Time to go, but hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures up sometime.

Updates From Russia

Well the good news is Chill is alive. It was a long trip to Russia. About 19 hours on a plane and then he spent the day in Moscow. He hopped on a train and road another 18 hours to where he will be staying for the next month. He has an apartment all to himself which is nice. He has been able to call me 3 times already which I feel pretty good about. The first time he called me we talked for 2 minutes and the phone went dead. I thought for sure someone had walked by and attacked him. Ha Ha. I guess he only had 2 minutes left on the phone card he was using. He called me back 2 days later and we were able to talk about his long trip over to Russia. Chill of course is already loving being over there. He enjoys all the people he has met and says that he is doing pretty good with his Russian. That did provide 2 translators for him. Medical Students...They are 18 and 19 year old girls. Yep you read it right...GIRLS. Chill said he was going to tell them he has a really mean wife and if they try anything I'd be over there in 3 days flat. It's actually nice that he has friends already. They took him to the grocery store to help him buy groceries and they even helped him cook. Chill is already talking about going back to Russia someday. He has already started working in the hospital and has been able to watch and even help with some surgeries. He said he'll be able to do a lot while he is there so he's pretty excited about that. He seems to be getting along well with everyone. It is fun to hear from him and to hear how things work in hospitals over in Russia. Well that is the update for now. Carson and I are hanging in there. I miss Chill, but I am so glad he went. He just sounds so happy and excited to be there. This is really an opportunity of a lifetime so I couldn't hold him back.

Brent's Birthday and 4th of July Fun

Last week we decided we'd go to Idaho Falls and spend Brent's birthday with him. Carson and I took a little road trip with my parents. Carson did great in the car and he was an Angel the entire weekend. We had such a great time going to eat, shopping, watching movies, and just hanging out. Brent was such a big help with Carson and I think Carson just loves him. I have to give credit to Brent because he got Carson to start taking his binky on Saturday afternoon. It was a miracle. I have been trying for 3 months and nothing. Brent tried and he took it right away. We had so much fun and didn't want to go home. Thanks Brent for the fun weekend!!!

Our Fun Weekend!

How Did This Happen

Let me give you a little background before I say what happened today. So anytime Chill and I ride in the car together we always have to "share" the radio. I love to turn up the music and listen to some good songs and he just listens to talk radio all the time. It has kind of bugged be and I remember complaining to my sister about it and my brother in law is the same way. Well I love to ride in the car by myself so that I can turn up the music, bob my head and sing loud. Chill told me after Carson was born that maybe I should listen to something else and not expose him to my music. Whatever...Carson LOVES my music. Okay not really but someday he will. Since Carson was born I started riding in the back of the car to keep him happy when Chill and I go somewhere. This creates a real problem because I am not able to control the radio at all and so what do we end up listening to the ENTIRE TIME...Yep you guessed it, Talk Radio. Well today I got in my car and turned up the radio and before I realized what I was doing, I had reached down, hit the AM/FM button and changed the radio station to AM 570 to listen to Glenn Beck. I listened to it the entire time as I drove to Salt Lake after work!!!! How did this happen??? I mean we are talking about a girl here who HATES talk radio, or should I say HATED. I couldn't believe it. Look what Chill has done to me. I can't explain it and I'm not sure how it happened, but yes people, I will now admit I enjoy talk radio. There I said it Chill, are you happy? Ha Ha

Oh yes and by the way, Chill is probably still on a train right now on his way to his final destination. The last time we talked was yesterday afternoon and he was just leaving for Moscow. He was LOVING life because he was in Business Class and was being served bottled water, a 3 course meal, pillows, blankets, and lots of leg room. He was one happy boy. I hope to hear from him tomorrow evening sometime and then I'll give updates.
