What's Happening in the Wilcox Home?

Well lots has been going on in the Wilcox home. Carson finally started walking the day after Mother's Day. Chill finished up his classes and graduated. We've been able to spend time with family and friends. I went out with some of my girl friends from college and Chill has been working on his golf game whenever possible. He's also been playing Mr. Mom because I've been working a lot to try and support this family of three! I can't complain though because we have been having a great time and very much enjoying his time off.

Walking

Well I had a video of Carson walking but of course I can't get it to load. He is just cruising around and it is so cute. I can tell that running is not far in the future. He is just the cutest little man. He says quite a few words now which is fun. He makes us laugh constantly. What would we do without him?

Graduation 2009

Chill graduated on May 23 and we were all so proud of him. Our families were able to attend which was awesome. He got his diploma and was able to get his hood. The hoods for doctoral candidates are longest, at four feet. Doctor's gowns and hoods display the colors of the academic institution or the field of study. It has been an interesting four years and Chill has worked so hard. It is so exciting that he has reached the end of his schooling and I am excited for him to continue his training here in Utah. He'll be very busy this next year as he starts residency at the end of June, but I figure we've made it through the past 4 years so what is another 5 or 6 years. Thanks to all of those who have been so supportive of Chill and I and who are always there to offer love and encouragement. Good Job Dr. Wilcox, You did it!!!

Family

Spending time with family is always fun. Chill and I both have such wonderful families. We've been able to visit Chill's grandparents a few times and we've had a great time visiting with them. A few weeks ago when we were at their house, all Carson wanted to do was get a hold of grandpa's Pepsi. It was so funny to watch him. The minute grandpa set that Pepsi down on the table, you better believe Carson was right there trying to steal a drink. He then showed interest in grandma's water and proceeded to dump most of it all over the couch. He's a wild one. Carson tends to get a little messing when eating and playing. One night when we were at Chill's parents, his mom gave him a bath in the kitchen sink and he LOVED it!

Friends

Although we don't get to see our friends as much as we'd like. It is always fun to get together with them whether it be out for dinner, or the petting zoo at Gardner Village. We have such fun friends. My very best friend Sargie has been coming down to visit quite a bit this past month and Carson really just adores her. It has been so much fun being together and talking about old times up in Logan and Utah State. I was also able to get together with some other good friends from Logan a few weeks ago. We had so much fun laughing and sharing memories. It was so fun and so crazy to think that we are all married now. Who would have thought?

Mother's Day Weekend

It was a busy weekend for us. My best friend Shell came and stayed with us which was so much fun. Chill is such a trooper to put up with us. We have so much fun when we are together, but I'm sure we are a little annoying. On Saturday Shell, Carson and I went shopping for Mother's Day and then it was off to the park to get a little sun. Chill went golfing so it worked out great. We were able to relax a bit and go visit my parents. Sunday morning we all got up and Chill made us breakfast and gave me some tulips from our yard. He had been teasing me that he was going to do that. After getting ready and flying out the door, I found some flowers and a book on the porch for me. Chill is pretty good at surprises. It was so sweet. We all went to church and then it was back home to clean up the house and prepare dinner. I had invited my family over for dinner. Usually my mom is busy pampering her mom on Mother's Day but since she is no longer with us, I decided my mom shouldn't have to cook. It was a great day and a great weekend. There is nothing better than spending time with family. I love you mom and hope you had a wonderful day

No More Pencils, No More Books, No More Teachers Dirty Looks!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER

That's right, Chill is done with school. His last day was Friday. It is so crazy to think that after 26 years, he is finally done with school. I am so proud of him and all he has accomplished. I know I could have never done it. Seriously the discipline it takes to be in school that long...not my thing! The one thing I am happy about is that we don't have to pay that dang Med School ANY MORE money...but wait, we still have to pay everything back...Shoot!!! Well at least Chill can actually start making money. I'm not sure what it is like to have a husband that brings home a paycheck twice a month. Wait, actually he did make $92.00 in 2008 (I think) so he has made a little money. Anyway we are definitely enjoying our time right now. He has about a month and a half until he starts residency so we are going to take full advantage of that. After residency starts it's all over from there. Here are some pictures with some of Chill's med school books that went right out to the trash! I'm sure he never wants to see those again. We are so excited and looking forward to Chill's graduation on May 23rd!!!

The weather has been absolutely beautiful the past week. I packed Carson up and we headed to the park. He loves to be outside and watch at the kids at the park. We picked up a little Taco Time and off we went. Chill was able to meet us there after school and we had a great time. Now if Carson would just walk...playing at the park would be much more fun!

Birthday Fun...Long Overdue

My birthday this year was fabulous! Seriously I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved it. It all started the week before at MiMi's with my mother in law and the girls from Chill's side of the family. It is always so much fun to get together and catch up and what better way to do it than over lunch. They were all so sweet and gave me such fun gifts. I wasn't planning to do much on my birthday (April 22) because we were making funeral arrangements for my grandma. I did plan to do a little shopping to find a dress and that was pretty much it. I thought we could celebrate later when everything wasn't so crazy. Well I was still staying at my parents because Chill was in Russia. I was blow drying my hair and I could hear my mom yelling at me. She wanted me to get the door. I was like... um hello I'm in the middle of getting ready. I got the door and to my surprise, my dad, my sister, and her two kids were standing on the pourch. It was honestly the best surprise. I thought they weren't coming until Friday, but they flew in early. It was so fun to be able to spend a few extra days with them. I honestly love my little Lexi and Logan! We of course went to lunch at Robintinos and did some shopping. They day was great, but the evening was even better. After leaving my parents house, Carson and I drove to the airport to pick up Chill. It was so good to see him and I got the best present ever....HE SHAVED HIS BEARD!!! I have been begging him for oh I don't know, 6 months to shave and he finally did it. I told him that was really the only thing I wanted for my b-day. Carson wasn't sure what to think of Chill without his beard. It was funny.

The birthday festivities didn't end there. We continued on the next day with more shopping and then we went to Chili's for dinner and went to my parents for presents and cake and ice cream. My family is seriously the best. They really made my birthday special
