Yummy Yummy Turkey

All I can say is Yum! Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. We spent Thanksgiving at my parents house and we had a great day. It was so fun for all of us to be together. My brother came from Idaho and my sister and her family made the LONG drive from Arizona. Carson and I spent Wednesday night at my parents (Chill was of course on call at the hospital) and we all stayed up way too late catching up. On Thanksgiving day we all helped get everything together and I made a sweet potato casserole which was tasty! I had it pretty easy I'd say. The turkey turned out just perfect and we all ate way too much. I just love the holidays and can't wait for Christmas!

Arizona

It seems like every few months I start thinking I need to make a trip to Arizona to see my sister and her family. My friend (Sarge aka Michelle) called me one day and said she had the first week of November off so we hurried and booked a flight to Pheonix. Sarge and I haven't been on a trip together for over 4 years. It was definitely time. It was so warm in AZ so we hit the pool on day and did a little shopping. I spent much of the 5 days laughing non stop. We had so much fun. Sarge and I are a lot to handle when we are together and I'm sure Nat felt like she was caring for 5 kids while we were there. Carson was in heaven because he was with Lexi and Beans for 5 days. He was Lexi's little shadow. Carson and Beans tolerate each other but we had to keep a close eye on them because those dang boys can be a little mean. Carson pushes and Beans bites. Someday I'm sure they will be the best of friends. Nat and Jared are so good to us and make it so much fun. I'm sad because I didn't take very many pictures, but we stayed busy and had a great time.

Halloween

Once again I am WAY late on posting! Halloween weekend was a busy one for us but way fun. I tried to get Carson real exciting about it but obviously he is still a little young to get it. He loved to cruise around the house in his dinosaur costume, but once it was time to put it on for all the events he wasn't so sure about it. He looked so cute though and he loved that his costume had a big belly. Chill and I didn't dress up...I know party poopers, but hey there is always next year.

Anyway Friday we went out to Lehi for Chill's parents Halloween Pary Trunk or Treat and also for to celebrate Doug's birthday. Carson didn't really get into the whole trunk or treat thing because he was too busy eating each piece of candy. I really wanted him to get some for me too, but I think we ended up with maybe 12 pieces of candy. All in all we had a great time!!

On Saturday we headed out to my parents to carve pumpkins. Carson of course loved the knives and thought the goo in middle of the pumpkin was great and covered the kitchen with it. We once again hit up my parents ward trunk or treat and the experience was much the same as the day before. Carson ate candy while I walked him around trying to get some for myself. We went back to my parents and helped pass out candy and glow sticks.

I can't wait until Carson is a little older and can really get into Halloween. It will make it so much fun.

18 Months Old

I am loving that Carson is 18 (almost 19) months old. He is so much fun and becoming much more independent which makes my life easier in some aspects and harder in others. As fun as it is, I feel a little sad (little being the key word) that he is no longer a baby. It is weird for me to think that I have a toddler now, but boy is he a cute one. I took him in for he check up a few weeks ago and he is weighing in at a whoppin 20.5 lbs! I know ...I try to put some lbs on this kid but it just isn't happening. He was 20.1 lbs 3 months ago. He is now in the 1st percentile for weight. He is 33 1/4 inches tall and has grown about 2 inches in 3 months. He is in the 80th percentile for height. Tall and skinny. Carson definitely has a few favorite things, his blue blanket and bear which he has to know where they are at all times. He also loves chocolate milk, nutri grain bars, broccoli, dogs, horses, pumpkins, helicopters, airplanes, deer and much much more. He is talking so well and loves to read books. He also loves his grandpas a lot, but grandmas, aunts and uncles come in at a close second. He loves to walk around in other peoples shoes and he loves electronics of any kind. We've been pretty lucky because Carson is not much of a climber. He is a very busy boy but he is also very cautious. He still manages to always have a bump, a bruise, or a cut somewhere though. One thing that Carson does not like is nursery. I was so excited for him to hit 18 months just for that reason. One thing I did not know was that Carson and I would be going to nursery together every week. As long as I am in the room he is fine, but the minute I head for the door, total melt down. Someday right???

Grapes

So about a month ago Carson was eating grapes and when I walked in the room I noticed he was launching them out of his mouth and into a bowl. Hurried and grabbed my camera and this is what I could get. Before the camera was out he got it in the bowl every time.

And We're Back!

I know it's been forever. Life is busy and my blog just isn't a priority. Things for in the Wilcox home are going well. Chill is on a week long break right now which is great. He has spent much of his time hunting and will continue to do so until the end of the week. I have been working like crazy. We are really busy right now so I feel like I am working non-stop around the clock. Thanks to my family and Chill's family who are always willing to take Carson when I have to run into work!

Wyoming

We were able to spend last weekend in Wyoming with Chill's family. We had such a great time. Carson and I spent our time in the cabin with Claudia while the boys were out hunting in the rain and snow. We were able to relax and listen to conference. Brett had a lot of success and shot an elk and a buck. Carson is seriously obssessed with deer! We have some European mounts (I think that is what they are called) out in our shed and we have to go back and look at them about 3 times a week no joke! When I saw what Brett had shot I was all grossed out by the dead animals but not Carson. He had to be up close and personal with them. He was petting them and looking at them. He's a brave little man. I guess it's in his blood. I actually felt like I was on vacation too because Doug took care of Carson most of the time. It was great! Not much has changed since the last time I posted. I am having so much fun running around chasing Carson all day. He is such a fun kid and keeps me laughing. Life is good so I can't complain!

15 Month Appointment

Okay so I took Carson in for the regular check up last week. It feels like you spend most of your time at the dr for the first few years of a child's life. Seriously. Well it hit me that Carson is growing up so fast. They had him stand on the scale and I almost cried. He is too big for the baby scale we used to lay him on. I almost wanted to clap because I was so proud of him for standing on the scale like a big boy. How pathetic am I. Anyhoo, Carson only weighs 20.1 lbs. He is such a skinny little man. That puts him in the 4th, yes that is right 4th percentile for weight. Carson was super tired when we went in and all he wanted was his bottle. Well I was hiding it because I knew the doctor would give me a hard time if he saw Carson with the bottle. He told me at his 12 month appointment it was time for the bottle to go. I just couldn't do it. I mean really how do you take a bottle away from your little man. He just loves it. I was seriously doing anything possible to keep him occupied. Well the dr started asking about his eating habits (which are HORRIBLE...seriously the kid doesn't eat). He asked about the bottle and I was going to lie and say he rarely takes it but I just blurted out the truth. So once again I got a little talking too about how I need to get him off the bottle. I still didn't want to and at that moment had not intensions of taking it away. Well we found out too Carson has a double ear infection. I had no idea. What kind of mom doesn't know their kid has an ear infection. Well we walked out of there with a prescription, a sucker, and one sad boy with a bandaid from his shot. Overall Carson is a very healthy,cute....and SKINNY BOY!!

**UPDATE **

Good News is...Carson is off the bottle. Yes I finally committed myself to weaning from the bottle and we have done it. It really wasn't that hard and Carson has done well. I hope I haven't emotionally scarred him forever. He seems okay. I am happy to say the kid actually does eat and he eats a lot. Seriously I think the kid has eatten more this past week than he has the past year. He is constantly hungry. It is actually kind of nice. We went to lunch the other day with my sisters and he ate. That never happens. In fact he stole Mindi's corndog and started chowing down. I have serciously just been in awe because it was always such a struggle to get him to eat and now he has no problem. It's great. Guess the doctor was right!!!
