Maybe It's Not My Thing

Alright so Chill and I got snow skis last year for Christmas from his parents. When I say last year I mean...2010! We did not go ONCE in 2011. Pathetic I know. To be honest I didn't really push the issue because I have only been skiing ONCE in my life when I was in Jr. High and it was an awful experience. Seriously I wasn't sure I was going to go again. Chill of course said I had to try it out, but somehow the year flew by and no skiing. Well, 2012 is different. Chill was determined for us to go skiing and he made that happen last week. He had the day off and said we should go skiing. We hadn't arranged for a babysitter so that was my excuse. I was talking with my mom and mentioned Chill wanted to ski and she said, "Well hey I can tend the kids." I thought, should I tell Chill or should I not tell Chill....hmmmm big dilema. I decided to tell him and before I knew it we were packed up in the car and on our way to Alta. You know they have the Ski Free after 3 (well for another few weeks they do). It was a beautiful day and I was so super duper nervous but I was also excited. The minute I put on my skis I knew we were in trouble. I was like...wow, these are really slick...Like I'm sliding and I am on flat ground. Yeah I know disaster! Anyway it took me about 10 minutes just to get to the ski lift. I made it on but was not sure how I was going to get off. Now you have to understand I get myself SO worked up over things. Seriously I don't know how Chill handles me. Good news....I made it off the lift in one piece. Bad news....Now I had to make it down the mountain. I did not even dare to move. Well I of course finally did, had a few good falls, went completely out of control a few times, but an hour later I was down the mountain and back on the lift and.... I WAS ALIVE! The second time down was SO much better. There were a few times I looked at Chill and said..."Should I go for it" and off I went . I was ready to go a third time, but our time was up. The free skiing was only from 3-4:30 so I was out of luck. Next time I guess. Now I need a lot more practice but it was so dang fun. I wish so badly that we would have taken a video camera. I am sure it would have been priceless.

We told Carson all about our ski adventure and he wanted to go. Chill got off early Saturday so we headed back to Alta. Of course it was packed because it was Saturday, but that was okay. Carson was pretty excited to have a little tiny pair of skis. Off the boys went and Bailey and I hung out and watched all the skiers. She was good for the first 40 minutes and then she was done with the cold and the snow! She threw quite the tantrum on the way to the car but luckily I could pull the car up close enough that I could take some pictures of Chill and Carson as they made their way down the last hill. Carson was pretty frozen and ready to be done. It was a big hill they tackled for his first time, but he said he would go again. He is too cute!

The Kiddos

I just have a few random cute pictures of the kids. I sure love that I get to spend my days with these two wild ones. While they both have their moments, I wouldn't trade my job as their mommy for anything in this world. They really are my everything!

Carson LOVES to tie things up. Many of the ties in the hood of my sweatshirts now belong to Carson. I wish I had taken time to take pictures of everything he ties up because it is hilarious. Many times I will go to get in my drawers and can't get in because they are all tied together. He has tied himself up a few times and can't get out without my help. It reminds me of the movie Dennis the Menace when Dennis ties up the bad guy! I'm telling you kids really can tie things up to the point you can't get out!

Well we arrive home from California just in time to get ready to ring in a new year. It felt nice to be home, relax, and enjoy a few more days that Chill had off before he was back to work. We were so tired when we got home we dropped our bags in the house, turned on the TV and crashed on the couch. I woke up early Saturday morning and realized the house was a little chilly. I checked out the thermostat and sure enough the heater was not working. Now we have had this happen before so I wasn't too worried. It furnace will usually kick on after a bit. Well it never kicked on so we had to call someone to check it out. Not only was it a Saturday, but it was also New Years Eve which means it would cost an arm and a leg just to have someone look at it! Just our luck but we had to have heat. Well the news was NOT good. We would have to to spend around $1,000 dollars to repair it that day, or wait until Tuesday and have it fixed or completely replaced. We decided to get a second opionion so yes, we paid someone else to come check it out and he said it needed to be replaced, the we really couldn't repair it. Fun for us. Happy New Year!

I really just wanted to stay home because we all were coming down with colds and I wanted to just be in my own bed, but with no heat and a house that was getting colder by the hour, we unpacked our bags from the trip, packed another bag and headed to Chill's parents for a few days. Thank heavens for family! We decided to go there because my parents were out of town and we thought it would be fun to have some peole to spend New Years Eve with. It ended up being really fun. We set up camp in the middle of the basement, put the kids to bed, and pulled out the dominos. Chill's brother Brett was such a good sport and played with us for hours!! We made Garrett come down at midnight so we could all say Happy New Year and that was about all I could take. I was ready for bed. We spent another night at Chill's parents and there we were able to find someone to install a new furnce for us on January 2nd. I have never appreciated heat more than I did after that furnace was installed. Oh how I love my new furnace. I have to say that because all my savings went into that :) Life is good, we are warm, and we have a new furnace!

While we were staying with Chill's parents we got to go visit Grandma Molly in at Aspen Ridge. The kids just love to visit her. They are both so sweet to her. I think they like it because they get to take rides in her wheelchair! We sure love Grandma Molly and are so glad she is recovering.

Christmas and California

Christmas day seemed to go by WAY to quick. It was one of those days where you just move from one event to the next without even thinking. Of course our kids did not wake up early and we had to wake them up...why does it happen like that??? We got them up and celebrated with just our little family. Carson was so excited from the minute he got up. His stocking was right by his bed so he knew Santa had been there. He went through the stocking and got more and more excited. He wouldn't wait to see what Santa brought for him since he told Santa he just wanted a surprise. We held him off until we could get Bailey downstairs and ready. He was a little concerned that her stocking was not in her bed like his was, but I had to explain it might be a little dangerous to have it in Bailey's bed because she is so little. Carson was definitely excited to see that Santa brought him a little flex track! I am not sure who loved it more though, Carson or Bailey. Bailey didn't really care that Santa brought her a little shopping cart, she just wanted to play with the cars. All I can say is they were happy and that is all that mattered. We moved through gifts quickly, but still tried to let the kids play with their stuff. While they played I finished packing all the last minute things and then we were out the door to listen to my parents speak in church. I took Carson to church and Chill stayed home so Bailey could nap. Church was going a little long so after dad spoke we ran out the door, changed our clothes, and were off to the airport. I tell you it was a fast day.

Yes I will admit I was a little stressed (me, holidays, traveling etc does that to me) Once we were at the airport I was able to take a deep breath and I was so excited to be spending a week with not only Chill's family, but with Chill!! I don't know that we have been on a single vacation our married life where he was able to stay the ENTIRE time! It was absolutely wonderful! Seriously I kept thinking that something was weird, and then I realized it was just the fact that Chill was there every morning and everyday and every night to help with the kids! That made the vacation that much more enjoyable. The kids did great on the flight! Carson loves to fly and he was such a good boy. Bailey was tired but we made it through. We landed in Long Beach which is the smallest, cutest little airport. We rented a big old 12 passenger van (which turned out to be super nice and a fabulous was to travel) and we were off to San Clemente where we would spend the next 5 days. When we got to the condo we were all starving but NOTHING was open because it was Christmas. We finally found a Jack in the Box, we ate, and we were all happy!!

Day One we spent at the beach. We decided we should take advantage of the beautiful weather and see the beach. Chill and Carson went for a little swim. I opted not to because the water was FREEZING. It didn't seem to even phase Carson. We took a nice long walk down the beach to the Pier and really just took it easy. We also did some grocery shopping so we would have food for the week. It truly felt like we were on a vacation...nice and relaxing.

Day Two we spent at Knotts Berry Farm. All I can say was it was insanely busy. I would say over half our day was spent standing in line for the rides. Carson went on two rides and after that he was spent. I thought for sure he would want to go on more, but nope, he was done. We stayed the entire day and the kids did so dang well cruising around in the stroller. Chill's parents were so awesome and watched the kids most of the time and let Chill and I go on some rides. I think we went on 3 rides but we had to stand in line for almost 2 hours for each of them. CRAZY!!! Although it was busy and we did a lot of waiting, it was a lot of fun. The kids just loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa so they were happy.

Day Three we went on a Whale Watching Boat. This was by far one of the high lights of the trip. I just think big animals like whales are amazing. We saw a ton of dolphins which Carson was excited about and we actually say two great big whales. I honestly can't remember what kind they were and I didn't get any good pictures, but they were cool. The kids wanted to spend most of their time down in the cabin where they could eat food and hang out on the tables. As for me, I spent much of my time on deck with the fresh air to keep me from getting sea sick! It was so fun and I would definitely do it again! After the whale watching everyone was able to eat Fish and Chips for lunch which they had been waiting for (I on the other hand went for a nice ham sandwich!) We headed to the beach to play and watch the sun go down. The kids would have played all night on the beach if they could!

Day Four, our last full day, we spent at the beach. The boys really wanted to rent boogie boards and play in the water so that is what we did. It was a good choice because the kids LOVE the beach so everyone was happy. We just relaxed and enjoyed every minute of it. I was sad because I knew that was the last day and I was just loving being together as a family, but we had to come back to reality sooner or later!

Day Five and it was time to go home. We stopped and did a little shopping and took the scenic route to the airport. We had such a great time and Chill and I decided we would love to have a condo in California someday. Now I'm not sure that will ever happen, but we can dream right??

Christmas Eve

Our Christmas festivities were very different this year. It was not bad, just different. We spent much of Christmas Eve packing our bags and getting ready for California. I wanted to be all ready so that I didn't have to worry about it on Christmas. We headed over to my parents in the afternoon to get ready for the big Christmas Eve dinner. Mom was busy cooking away as usual and everyone else was off doing their own things. Finally Min, Matt, Brent and Sharna rolled in and it was time for the fun to begin. I must say things just don't seem complete without Nat and her family but I just have to keep telling myself someday...someday we will ALL be together to celebrate the holidays!!! I really look forward to that "someday!" Dinner was wonderful as usual, but I knew it would be. We had fun sitting around laughing and having a good time. Right after dinner we were able to Skype with Nat and her family which is always so much fun. It is kind of funny hanging out with them over Skype, but I always say that it is better than nothing! We decided to open our gifts from my family because we weren't quite sure what Christmas day was going to bring and we were afraid we would be rushing! So although it was not part of our normal tradition, we went ahead and opened our gifts and then we did our annual tradition of reading The Night Before Christmas, the story from Luke 2 and then listened to Silent Night. After all that it was out the door so we could get our kids off to bed! We sure crammed a lot into one day but it was all good.

Christmas at Aspen Ridge

Chill's family always has a Christmas party at Grandma Molly's. This year it was a little different since Grandma is in a rehab center recovering after her fall. She is staying in Aspen Ridge which is absolutely beautiful and they take great care of her. She really has loved it there. We decided to bring the party to her. Although it was different than most years what mattered most is that we were all together. We really had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute of it.

After the party with Grandma Molly we headed back to our house with Chill's family and exchanged gifts. We had a mini Christmas with them. We had to find time to celebrate with Chill's family because we were flying out Christmas day to go to California and we were funning out of days quickly. We all got spoiled as usual, especially our kids. Chill's parents gave us the trip to California for Christmas which we were all excited about.

After presents Chill and I ran out the door and headed to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building to meet up with my family at The Roof. We were very late! The parking garage was closed and the doors to the building were all locked, but luckily Chill caught the door as someon walked out and we were in! We just ate dessert which was fabulous since everyone was done with their dinner. It was really nice to go out with just the adults. I think we will make it an annual Christmas tradition!

Grandma Molly

Chillin's cute little Grandma Molly had a really bad fall at her home and was in the hospital for almost a week. I think Grandma Molly is one of the sweetest people around. We were able to go visit her a few times while she was there. The kids both loved visiting her and Bailey gave her more attention than she ever has before. Carson just loved the gloves and the mask and pretending he wa a doctor. He is a character but he definitely keeps us entertained! We are so glad grandma is recovering and healing!

Christmas Outfits and a Party

Christmas outfits are a big deal to a mom. I don't know why, but its a big deal. I started looking for Christmas outfits back in October I think it was. It's funny that I stress about it because in the end I usually just hurry and throw it together and it turns out fine. Now if I could just get a good pictures of the kids standing by the tree that would be nice. Oh well I guess this is what memories are made of.

Every year we have the Wilcox Family Christmas party and it is a lot of fun. I really look forward to it. This year was once again a great time. It was very small, it seemed like half the people didn't come, but for those that were there, it was a great party. We always have fabulous food and play a white elephant game. I think I took home the best present....An ugly Christmas sweater and a Bump It!

Temple Square

Chill and I had been saying for weeks we need to go to Temple Square. We knew we needed to go this year because next year we may not be here for Christmas. You know its a lot of work to get everyone all bundled to go out, but I really wanted to see the lights. I figured we'd only be there a half hour or so and then the kids would be done. I was wrong...I think we were there 2.5 minutes and Carson said he wanted to go into the visitors center because he was cold. So in we went. We walked around, watched a movie and then he wanted to go home. We did talk him into going over to Deseret Book (only because we knew they were handing out gingerbread cookies and we bribed him!) The highlight of the trip was riding the trax because Carson thinks its so fun. Lets just say maybe it will be a few years before the kids actually appreciate those lights!

Ward Christmas Brunch and a Birthday

Well as many of you may know I am not a big party planner. I love to attend parties, I love to help with parties, but I DO NOT like to plan them. Well in the middle of November the bishop approached us and asked us to be in charge of the Ward Christmas Brunch for the year. We of course accepted, but I was stressed out! Me stressed out....NEVER! Part of the problem was Chill was NEVER around. His work schedule was a little busy so I knew that I would be planning the party. I am terrible at deligating and had asking for help in these situations. I finally realized (with the help of my husband) that I just couldn't do it all. I did what I hate to do and I delegated! It was SUCH a relief. Seriously! After that it was no big deal. Everything came together and it was wonderful. Everyone had a good time and there was plenty of food, fun, and entertainment. My poor kids though. They had to run around and fend for themselves for a bit. I think Carson thought it was great being on his own! Bailey was absolutely exhausted by the end of the party. So exhausted that she fell asleep on the floor in the kitchen. Poor little miss!

After the ward party it was on to the next party. Mom's birthday! We met up with everyone at the Spaghetti Factory(one of my favorite places) for a tasty dinner and then it was back to our house presents and cake. Although it was a quick little party we had lots of fun and were glad Brent and Sharna made it along with Sharna's dad!

Tree Adventure 2011

Well I made a VERY last minute decision to pack the kids up in the car and meet Chill's parents up the canyon to find a Christmas Tree. Chill had to work so I wasn't planning on going, but when Carson found out where grandma and grandpa were he wanted to go. I knew we would have such a great time and was starting to feel bad that we were missing out so I dressed everyone, grabbed the snow clothes and a few snacks and off were went. I knew I made the right decision when Carson said, "We are off on an adventure, this is a great adventure!" We made it to the top of the mountain and found everybody and we ended up have a great time. I am SO glad we went because Carson loved every minute of it. He helped grandpa Doug keep the fire going all afternoon, rode on the snowmobile and the sled, and roasted marshmallows. What could be better? Bailey did pretty well under the circumstances. She was a trooper. It was pretty chilly and she did not like being all bundled up. She could barely move (it was pretty cute though)! Once I took off all the snow clothes and let her just sit in the car and eat a sucker, life was good! I took off on a hike with Chill's aunt Lynda and we found a good tree...it was a little tall, but I thought it would work great so we cut it down and luckily right then Uncle John came by and hooked the tree to the snowmobile. There was NO way we were going to drag that thing back! It was a great day. Beautiful weather and lots of fun!

Thanksgiving 2011

Well Thanksgiving this year was small but great. It was our year to be with my family. Someday I know all the siblings will be on the same schedule and we can all be together and eat delicious food. Until that day we have do deal with only having a few of us. So this year it was Mom, Dad, Min, Matt, me, Carson, Bailey, and Chill (who made it about 30 minutes late! Dang work!) Mom did fantastic job with dinner. Seriously so so tasty. I attempted to make the rolls this year and they turned out alright. I need a little more practice and then I think we will be in business. Life is good and couldn't be better when you are surrounded by people you love. I have much to be grateful for. As for pictures, I didn't take very many but oh well!

HaLlOwEeN 2011

I would have to say that our Halloween was busy. I mean now that I look back it wasn't that bad, but when you are in the middle of it, it feels busy. I guess pulling together costumes and such makes it feel a little crazy. It is so fun because Carson is way into Halloween now. (maybe a little too into it...he has an OPINION and a big one at that). So after talking with my sister Nat I decided I would have Bailey be Wonder Woman and have Carson be some superhero. He has a few different costumes so I figured he would be happy. Nat made a DARLING tutu for Bailey and she just looked so darn cute. Well a few weeks before Halloween Carson decided he wanted to be Dash from the Incredibles. Alright fine is all I said thinking I could talk him back into the Superhero thing. I thought maybe we could all dress up as the incredibles for the Trunk or Treat and that would make him happy. Well I was wrong. The day before Carson's preschool halloween party he made it clear he was going to be Dash. I told him he needed to be a superhero with Bailey and he stopped, looked at me and with a stern voice said, "DASH IS A SUPERHERO!" Ummm....how do I argue that one. So off we went to Target and low and behold there was ONE Dash costume that would fit him...sort of but it would work. I decided that moment that this was not about me anymore. I didn't get to decided and I should just let him decide. He was so happy and so excited that it was all worth it. So we did Preschool Party Thursday, Primary Halloween Party Friday, Trunk or Treat Saturday, and Dentist and Trick or Treating Monday. Who takes their kid to the dentist on Halloween...I do ha ha! I thought it would be fun because they could dress up...and it was fun so there! Bailey switched between her Wonder Woman and her Jack Jack and Carson was just DASH and boy was he happy! The only thing was when he saw Chill and I trying on our costumes, he decided he wanted a homemade Dash uniform (as Carson calls it) as well. Luckily I already had most of the stuff for his which was good. I know I know I really gave into him didn't I. I just wanted him to be happy. Don't think I can keep this up every year, but for now it worked. Carson told everyone his hair was slicked back from running so fast. He also decided that Min my sister needed to be Violet and her boyfriend, Matt, would be Syndrome. Unfortunatlye they were not able to dress up with us, but Carson still calls them by their Incredible names, as he does the rest of us. So for now we are no longer the Wilcox family, but the Parr Family! Chill actually made it to a few of these events which was a miracle. He made it just in time to throw on his costume for the Trunk or Treat and also for Trick or Treating. That never happens, but we were sure glad he made it!

We made a quick last minute decision to head down to St. George a few weeks ago. Chill was on what I call a "good" rotation so we had to take advantage of a weekend off work. We loaded up and were off to enjoy the last few days of warm weather with Chill's grandparents. The car ride was great. The kids did so well which made it all worth it. Chill's aunt and uncle were there along with two of their kids and their dog, JJ which Carson and Bailey were obsessed with! The dog provided hours of entertainment for Carson! We really didn't do much other than hang out, swim, eat and of course played some serious cards! It was just what a vacation should be. We sure love Chill's grandparents and love spending time with them. I really didn't take very many pictures...dang!

Cars

Carson, like most kids, really loves Cars the movie. My sister called us one day and said that there was something going on with the Cars at Energy Solutions. My mom happened to be tending Bailey that day while I was at preschool with Carson so after preschool we headed over. I am so glad we went. Not only did they havwe the Cars 2 cars, but they had a lots of free stuff and an obstacle coarse with a giant slide which Carson loves. He thought the whole thing was awesome so it was definitely worth it.

Wyoming 2011

Well the Deer Hunt came and went already this year. I honestly can't believe October is over! Where does the time go? We spent the weekend in Wyoming with Chill's family hanging out, playing cards, having fun, and of course Hunting! We were able to go horseback riding which was so much fun. The boys did a lot of fishing and were pretty successful. We of course rowed around the pond in the row boat which is always a good time. We were there on the coldest weekend so far this year and it snowed. Good for the hunters, bad for me. No, even with the snow we had a great time. The last day we were there it was pretty nice and most of the snow melted. Carson definitely enjoyed the snow. I swear the cold and snow doesn't even phase kids. I am not sure what Chill is going to do next year if we aren't able to come home for the Deer Hunt. Guess we will see what happens.

He FINALLY got married!

Well the good news is my big brother finally got married. He got married back on August 6th. It was a busy weekend but we had so much fun. We are so happy for the "Happy Couple" as I call them and we absolutely love Sharna his new wife! It started off with an Open House in Idaho Falls on August 4th, the wedding on August 6th in the Salt Lake Temple, a wedding luncheon, and a reception that night in Taylorsville.

Everything was so beautiful. My very talented cousin Heidi was the wedding planner and I thought everything turned out great. During the reception we had a little birthday celebration for Heidi since she had to work so hard on her birthday! Yes we did have to deal with rain here and there but all in all it was wonderful! I had a great time and that's all that matters right?? Ha Ha!

Bachelor Party
The boys quickly threw a little bachelor party together for Brent. There were crazy and went rode go carts...watch out. I think they had a great time though. The boys don't get to see each other or hang out very often so I know they were all happy about it!

The Wedding- Salt Lake Temple

Yes, Brent did decided that he needed to be married at 8:20 a.m. So we were all up at the crack of dawn to get everyone ready. Min and Matt were so kind to keep all the kids entertained during the wedding. The plus side of having it early was we had plenty of time for pictures after...lots of pictures. We headed over to the Lion House for the wedding lunch which was tasty and the kids did surprisingly well!

Reception
Sharna and her mom planned and made everything for the reception. They are truly amazing. Everything came together very nicely and we all had a great time. The kids had so much fun running wild outside. (All except for Lexi who got a migraine and just spent the entire time on a blanket on the grass...poor thing). The photo booth was a hit...the kids LOVED playing with all the props. The night was just fun and I think that is just what Brent and Sharna wanted!

Labor Day Weekend

We had a very fun, but very busy Labor Day weekend. We mad a lot of last minute decision that ended up being really fun. On Friday night we headed up to Kamas to spend the night at Chill's aunt and uncle's cabin. We got there kind of late so we just hung out, built a race track, listened to some music and then it was off to bed. Saturday morning we woke up and headed to Wyoming for some fishing. We planned to go horseback riding but unfortunately we got there too late to do that. Carson enjoyed fishing, or should I say throwing rocks in the river. Bailey also thought it was pretty fun to throw rocks and eat them! After fishing Doug needed to set up some hunting cameras (we were on the land that they hunt on every every year) so we went on a very bumpy joyride up the mountain. We grabbed a bit to eat in Evanston and then headed for home. Carson decided to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpas so Chill and I just had Bailey on Sunday. Sunday at about 4 Chill and I decided we would pack up and head up to Idaho Falls to see my brother and his cute wife after dinner. My parents had planned to go up there so we though, why not. We went over for Sunday dinner at Chill's parents to celebrate Aunt Lynda's birthday. We ate and then we left from there and headed to Idaho. We thought for sure the kids would sleep all the way there...not so! Bailey cried much of the way and Carson couldn't get comfortable! Needless to say we made it to Idaho at about 11:00 pm and it was lights out. Monday morning the boys got up bright and early to go golfing. Min and Matt decided to head to Idaho as well so up they came. After golf it was off to Perkins for some breakfast...this is definitely one of my favorite places! Bailey needed a nap so we hung out and watched Carson, Min, and Brent play a little pretend Rock Band and then we packed up and hit the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot. Now my sister Nat loves this fair and from first glance I honestly could not understand why. It looks pretty ghetto. After we got in walked around and ate some food, I completely understand why. The animals were awesome and the food was absolutely fabulous. Carson was so excited to ride the rides. He loved the roller coaster. He thought it was the best thing ever. Chill ate a fried twinkie which he said was tasty and Bailey devoured an entire piece of corn on the cob. (yes she still LOVES food). My favorite was the scone nuggets. Way better than the Utah State Fair I must admit. We were so sad Nat and her family weren't there since this is their thing! I will definitely be hitting that fair again! Once again we made the journey home and we were completely exhausted from our busy, but fun weekend of traveling and family time!

Trilobite Treasures

I took the kids down to Chill's parents house one night to go Trilobite Hunting with Grandpa Doug. Carson and grandpa had been talking about it for weeks and weeks. Carson was so excited to start his trilobite collection as he called it. We headed over to Thanksgiving Point and we were the only ones there which was great. We just went down into the big rock pit with buckets, hammers, and saftey goggles. Carson was ready for a hunt. He really wanted to find a SHARK TRILOBITE and he said he found a few. It was actually pretty fun. Once Garrett found one, things got pretty exciting. Garrett and Doug found some awesome ones and that made it well worth the experience. Bailey, Claudia and I just hung out and watched them hammer the rocks to pieces. Good time had by all!

Check out the socks and flip flops! I forgot to bring his shoes but I did have sock so he said he would just wear his socks with his flip flops because Uncle Garrett taught him how do to that. I give credit to Garrett for this awesome look!

Hair Cuts

We are so lucky to have our own personal "Hair Gal" in our family. Sometimes she is known as Babes, sometimes Mindi, sometimes Aunt Min or as Bailey calls her MMMMiiiiiin. Seriously I am not sure what we are going to do without her when we move away. I am already stressing about it. It has been so nice to just run right over to the salon anytime we need a little trim, hair color, nail color, etc. We just love Min and she is always so good to fit us right in. Carson has always loved to get his hair cut and I think Bailey is following in those foot steps. I put her up in the chair and she thought it was so fun. The best comment from Min while cutting Bailey's hair, "is it okay if I just layer the back a little." I about died since she doesn't even have an inch of hair in the back!! We had a good laugh!

First Day of Preschool

I'm still struggling with fact that Carson is old enough to be going to preschool. Part of me is absolutely loving it and part of me is dying that he is growing up so fast. Carson has been asking if he could go to school for almost a year now so when it was FINALLY time for school to start, he couldn't have been happier. We got to go meet his teacher, Tammy Taylor, 2 weeks ago and ever since then he has been counting down the days. His teacher asked him if he had any questions and he said, "I'm just excited to come to school." Monday night was wonderful because he got ready for bed early and went to sleep without a fight. When he woke up Tuesday he was happy, jumped in the shower, got ready, ate breakfast, brushed his teeth, and got his hair done without any type of a fight! I serioulsy was amazed. Our mornings NEVER go that smoothly. He told me a few days earlier what he wanted to wear to school so we were all prepared. It was so cute to see him running around so excited. He was just saying, "hey guess what, it's my first day of school." He ran up to Chill and said, "I can't believe it's my first day of school, I am so excited." We tried to take a few pictures inside, but he just wanted to go outside with his backpack on. I got him to stop for a few pictures outside and then off he ran to the car yelling, "I'm going to school." Our neighbor even said, "Off to school?" Carson said, "Yep it's my first day." What a kid!

We picked up Chill on the way to school so he could come with us for his first day. We all walked into the preschool, Carson hung up his backpack and he was off. I couldn't even take a picture of him in the classroom because he was too busy. I had to go find him to tell him goodbye. He did say goodbye, but was right back to playing. I walked out and felt that was way to easy. When I picked him up he was like, "oh hey mom." He grabbed his backpack and off we went. It was like he'd been in school forever. I still can't believe how big he is. I must say I am a proud mother!

Carson has been telling us for months that he really needs a Captain America costume. I found one at Costco last week and decided to get it for him. We thought it would be fun to give it to him on the first day of school. He was more than excited.

Little Miss Bayla is ONE!

Yes it is true, our little Diva/Drama Queen is ONE! I didn't want to face the fact that she was growing up so fast, but I have to come to terms with the reality that my little girl is a year old. I have loved every second of her. That is part of the reason I wanted her to say little for so long. She seriously has been such a good baby so having two kids has just been fun. Yes I do have my moments when I turn into the wicked witch and wonder why I have any kids at all, but that only lasts a few minutes. We were able to celebrate her birthday with just the 4 of us on her actual birthday. I have to admit that I threw something together last minute because after all the summer events, I didn't have the time or the energy for that matter to plan something big...Sad I Know!!! Bailey seemed to enjoy herself so I think we are good. We were able to celebrate later in the week with our families which was a lot of fun and of course she got spoiled by everyone!

Bailey is an eater. She can out eat Carson any day. She loves most anything you put in her mouth. She loves watermelon and can eat half of one I swear. She isn't saying any words other than Mamama and Dadada....oh and Nanana which she says over and over and over and gets louder every time. That means Give Me More Food Now! She is on the verge of walking. She has taken steps in between people and is really starting to get her balance. I am afraid she is going to be one of those kids that just takes off running when she finally gets the hang of it. She cut one of her top teeth but don't you worry, it isn't the middle one... but the one next to the middle one. Yeah right, I know snaggletooth right, but the cutest dang snaggletooth you've ever seen! I guess "awkward moments" are starting early for her.

Yes that is right, the little stinker was trying to hide from me so I couldn't take her picture!

Carson loves when Bailey walks to him. It might be the only thing he likes about her right now!

Lets just say going on to dinner with the kids right now can be a little challenging. We were in and out of Red Robin so fast. I seriously wonder sometimes why we even try to go out.

Bailey wasn't so sure about her birthday cake...She pretty much ate the sprinkles off half the cake and decided she was done!

Party #2 Started off with A LOT of Watermelon followed by a fabulous lasagna dinner!

Bailey did not want to wait for us to sing or blow oh the dang candles. She just wanted to dig in to the cake!

She was fine until she realized she was very messy and then she just got mad!

5 Years

Yes we made it to 5 years and it is a miracle. Okay so maybe not a miracle but I honestly can't believe it's been 5 years. I also can't believe we have 2 kids. (If it was up to Chill we would have 3 by now)! We were actually able to spend our anniversary together which we don't always get to go. We try and work something in every year, but it doesn't always work. Okay so the truth is we are supposed to take turns planning our anniversary and Chill is really good at it...me not so much. I have GREAT intentions, but just never follow through. Part of the problem is I think I have been at Bear Lake on our anniversary 3 of the 5 years we have been married. Chill usually isn't with us when we are in Bear Lake. Anyway enough with the excuses. We found out Chill didn't have to be to work the next day until 1 pm so my sister was sweet enough to volunteer to watch our kids over night. I left them at my parents, ran home and then Chill and I got on the computer to find somewhere to stay. We decided on the Grand America. The best thing about it was it took us all of 5 minutes to get there. We had such a great time. It is such a beautiful place with so much to see. We ate dinner at the hotel out on the patio which was so nice. The weather was perfect. Our food looked and tasted amazing. We sat and talked for hours and our waitress thought we were dating because we were having such a good time..so funny! It was just so nice to have a night to ourselves. Chill's work schedule had been so crazy for the past 2 months we rarely saw each otehr or had time to just talk. It was so nice to not worry about the kiddos at all. A big thanks to my sisters and mom for watching them and a big thanks to Chill for a great night out!

11 Months Old

Bailey has decided that these monthly pictures are not much fun. She spends most of her time trying to figure out how to rip the stickers of the onesie. I try to distract her with something and then take it away quickly... I know it only works when they are tiny. So lets just say that being 11 months is hard work. Bailey is definitely getting more dramatic by the day, but cuter by the minute. She is walking around everything and climbing anything she can pull herself up on- her favorite is Carson's bed. Carson wasn't ever a climber so I never had to worry about that kind of stuff. She loves to dance to music and I would say she has pretty good rhythm. It is fun to watch her explore and get excited about new things!

On a happier note, Carson LOVES the camera...most of the time!

Match Day

This was definitely a big day for us. We had been waiting and wondering for months where the next and LAST part of Chill's training would be. Chill applied back in October 2010 for the fellowship program and in Jan/Feb 2011 he started all his interviews. He interviewed at 6 different programs in Arizona, New York, Florida, Utah, Texas, and Minnesota. It was tough trying to decide how to rank the programs and wondering if we should try and stay in Utah or if it was time for us to move out of state and take a little adventure for a few years. We really felt that moving out of state was right for us but our future would be decided by a computerized match. Chill had to put his rank list in by June 1st and then had to wait until June 15 to find out the results. On the Match Day we decided to head down to Lehi and find out at Chill's parents. We thought Chill would get an e-mail at 10:00 a.m. At 10:02 a.m. we were kind of stressing and getting a little anxious so he logged onto the website and there were the results. It was a relief to know that Chill had matched, and that he had matched in the program he was hoping for. We found out that we will be moving to

Rochester, Minnesota in July 2012

I am very proud of Chill for all his hard work. All the crazy schedules/stressful schedules have been worth it. I can't believe we are about to be on the last leg of his training. We have definitely been blessed through it all. Yes I am a little nervous to move away from our families and from everything that is familiar, but also very excited for the opportunity to take an adventure. I know it will be good for us and our little family. Thank heavens we are moving there when it is warm so that I have time to get my food storage before the hibernation begins. I have heard wonderful things about Minnesota and it can't be all that bad if that is where the Mall of America is right???!!! That was all I needed to hear to be sold on the idea! After we got over the excitement of it all, called our family and friends, we spent time at the pool and had a little bbq!

The Swing Set

So my parents have been talking about getting a swing set for the grandkids for a while now. Mom decided to just go for it so that we could all put it together before Nat and her kids came for the summer. I thought if we could recruit a few people putting it together would be easy. Well I recruited Mindi and her boyfriend Matt to help. When we opened the box, took all the pieces out, and tried to organize everything, I could tell this just wasn't my type of task. Unfortunately Chill was busy working all and was not able to help so that meant Matt with the help of his side kick, Min, were in charge!! It was a task to say the least, but they did a great job. It took about 1 1/2 days to put together and the the kids love it so it was all worth it!

10 Months Old!

Bailey is well on her way to being One Year Old! This last month with her has been so much fun. She is growing and changing so fast. She has the cutest, sweetest, and sometimes sassiest personality. She is such a busy body and just has places to go. She perfected her army crawl and started crawling a few days ago. It is so amazing to me how quickly babies learn things. Bailey loves most any food in large quantities and she is really a fan of watermelon right now. She is thinks bath time is great and loves to splash and get everything wet (especially Carson). She is getting a little more cuddly which I am loving for sure. She loves Chill and most men for that matter. I feel so lucky to have such a great baby. I sometimes wonder what the toddler years will bring...watch out!

FLORIDA!

We were finally able to make a trip to Florida in May. My sister and her family have been there for a year now and I still had not been to visit. I had not seen Jared for almost a year, I had not seen Nat and the kids for almost 9 months, and I had not even met my little nephew Mason who was born in December. I tell you this was a much needed vacations. Chill was busy working as usual so I packed up the kids and recruited some help from my sister Mindi. I couldn't have done it without her! The kids did great on the flight for the most part. We arrived in one piece so I was happy about that. The sun was shining it was warm and beautiful and it was so nice to get out of the nasty Utah weather. We just played for a week straight and had so much fun. We spent 4 wonderful days at the beach, had a few pool days, ate tons of yummy food, had way to many sweets, and just had a blast. It was fun for Nat, Min, and I to spend some time together. We don't get to do that near enough. Watching the kids play together is so fun. Logan and Carson actually got a long for the most part which is a miracle. We only had to break up a few fights! Bailey absolutely LOVES Lexi ( and Jared!) and little Mason just might be the cutest dude ever. Carson tells me at least two times a week that he just wants to go back to Florida. I would say it was definitely a much needed and wonderful vacation. Nat and Jared spoiled us rotten. Can't wait to go again!

9 Months Old

Yes I am WAY behind. Bailey, or Bayla (the nickname Carson gave her) as we call her in our house, is fast approaching 10 months so I thought I'd better post a few 9 month pictures. I honestly don't know where the last 9 months has gone. I am seriously just loving every minute of this little girl. She has made having 2 kids so much easier than I had anticipated. It makes me scared to even think about or attempt 3 kids because there is no way I will get another "good" baby! Carson still would like to bop her over the head for the most part, but we do have days when he is very sweet to her, so we are making progress. She finally got the army crawl down about 2 1/2 weeks ago. She just really isn't in a hurry to crawl and I am perfectly fine with that. She has her two bottom teeth which is just the cutest thing ever and I think the top teeth will make their grand entrance any time now! Bailey is getting quite the personality, and yes she can be a drama queen. She is also still such a good eater. My favorite line from Chill, "Is she still eating?" As long as you put food in front of her, she will eat!

Easter

Chill has been working like crazy lately and had to work on Easter so we decided to do Easter a few days early when he had his day off. We scrambled last Monday night to pull everything together so we could celebrate on Tuesday and we did it. We died eggs Monday night which was so fun. I think Easter is one of Carson's favorites. He has talked about the Easter bunny quite frequently since last year so when it was FINALLY time for the Easter Bunny to visit our house, he was so excited. He ran around the house finding eggs and then found his and Bailey's baskets. He was pretty happy with everything he got. I love that he gets excited at the littlest things. He is at such a fun age. As usual Bailey was just happy to be there.

Chill was supposed to be running to the store for me and this is where I found him...in bed!!

On Easter morning the kids and I went to church as usual. After we were able to have dinner at my parents house. I sure love Easter dinner... yum! I don't know if you were all lucky enough to have Spiderman at your Easter dinner...we sure were! Carson LIVES in this costume. After dinner we Skyped with Nat and her family. We sure miss them so much and are so excited to visit them next month in Florida. It just can't come quick enough. We had another little celebration and my parents were sweet and of course hid some eggs and gifts for the kids.

Yes in the middle of all the Easter fun, I had a birthday. I of course love birthdays (especially my own)! Chill worked all day and evening so he wasn't able to make the day all about me ha ha! Thankfully my mom came through for me. We spent the day with her dying easter eggs, lunch from Kneaders, talking and I got to go by myself and do a little shopping. We ended the day with dinner at Texas Roadhouse, presents, and Strawberry Pie! The best part about it all was Carson opened all my presents for me, it was great. My favorite line of the night..."Ahh Wranglers!" after Carson opened a pair of jeans. (No I didn't not get a pair of wranglers!) I told Chill that because his schedule is so crazy this week, I am accepting gifts through next week.

1st Trip to the Dentist

I decided it was time to take Carson to the dentist. We have been talking about it for the past few months and he finally decided it was okay to go. I found a "Superhero" dentist in Salt Lake ( Burg Pediatric Dentistry which I would highly recommend to anyone) and after that Carson was sold. Tangled was playing in the waiting room when we got there which he thought was so cool He was a little timid when they took us back to the room, but it only took a few minutes and he was just fine. He let the girl take xrays, clean his teeth, and do floride. She talked him into all those things by giving him Spiderman stickers. He got to watch Megamind while he got his teeth cleaned and that made him happy. After the dentist checked him out and gave him the okay Carson got to pick out some stickers and prizes. He thought it was great. He also got a superhero cape because he is a new patient. I always worried a little about our first trip to the dentist, but boy was that a breeze!

8 Months Old

She just keeps growing and growing. As always Bailey is just our angel baby. She is so cute and fun to watch. She loves to interact with Carson and wants to be on the move all the time. She is not crawling yet...not even inching her way to things. She does roll and can get around that way. I am trying to enjoy the last little bit of limited mobility while I can because we all know after that things get a little more difficult. I didn't have to do much baby proofing when Carson started crawling, but I'm afraid it is going to be a different story with Bailey. I guess we will see!

It is hard to believe but our little buddy is 3 Years Old. I still can't wrap my head around it. I was looking at pictures the other day of when he was born and it really doesn't seem like that long ago. He has just gotten so big. Okay well not really... he still only weighs 28 lbs and is 3 feet tall. He has been such a good boy and so much fun. He amazes us by the things he says and is learning and keeps us laughing daily. A few days before his birthday he got on a Spiderman kick and wanted EVERYTHING Spiderman. As a mom you feel that you really have to come through for your kids and make their birthday special and just what they want. Thank heavens for Amazons cheap overnight shipping! Carson woke up so happy on his birthday and was so excited that he was 3. Before his birthday he told me he just wanted to be 2, but on his birthday he let us know he was finally 3! We had a great, but very busy few days while we celebrated.

We celebrated at home that morning. Carson and I went Burger King to get some breakfast and then we had a quick little party before Chill had to go to work. The present of the day was of course the Spiderman costume which he wore for 3 days in a row! I of course did what I said I would not do...I let him wear it out in public and to the zoo of all places. He was the happiest boy alive so I think it was worth it. It was a perfect day for the zoo. The weather was FINALLY so nice!

We had a little party at my parents house to keep the celebration going. We ate Chinese food at Carson's request, he opened presents, and we had cake and ice cream.

I think everyone is completely worn out...at least that's how it appears!

The following day we had a party with Chill's parents and some of our friends. It was so fun to see everyone and spend time catching up. Carson loved all the attention he got with his costume!

After the our friends left, we had a mini party with Chill's parents so Carson could open his presents from them. The present of the night was a Spiderman bike (which I didn't get a picture of). He was so excited. He is still learning how to ride it, but he loves it!

Happy St. Patrick's and a Birthday!

Well as many of you know, Chill's birthday is March 17th which I just love because it means I can make a big deal about it. Chill really isn't one for big birthday celebrations so thank heavens it is on a holiday. I told him the other day that lucky for him his birthday will ALWAYS be fun and ALWAYS be a big deal! He just looked at me and rolled his eyes. Ha Ha I love it!!! He was working nights so we had a big birthday breakfast for him when he got off work. He then spent the rest of his birthday sleeping and then it was off to work again by 7:00 pm.

Yes...Carson did stick his tongue in the food coloring even though I told him No!

We also had a little visitor at our house as well that left his Green little footprints everywhere and turned everything GREEN. We had a lot of fun eating Green Waffles, Green Eggs and Ham, and drinking Green Milk. Carson walked in the kitchen and said, "um mom, whose feet are these?" Then when he realized what was going on he was so excited because the leprechaun turned the milk Green and left him some chocolate. (Yes I did steal, copy, whatever you want to call this cute idea from Nat)

More Celebrating

We of course had to celebrate Chill's birthday around his schedule so it continued into the weekend and the following week. We were able to celebrate with Chill's family at PF Changs and then went and spent some time with Garrett to celebrate his birthday!

The following week we celebrated with my family at Teppanyaki. Chill may be a little spoile, but he deserves it. I would say he had a wonderful birthday! Thanks to everyone for all the nice, wonderful gifts!

7 Months Old

Another month down. Really??? I say it every month, but I honestly can't believe our Bailey Bug is 7 months. You forget quickly how fun it is to watch them grow from month to month. Bailey is very busy and moves constantly. She does not like to spend much time on her tummy, which means not crawling yet which is great by me. I know it is only a matter of time before that begins and then it is all over from there. She has the cutest little smile and loves to wave at Daddy. He just has to walk in the room and he gets a wave. I on the other hand am lucky if I get a little wave every few days.

We are in the process of working on sleeping through the night. I would say it is going well. I think we are just about there and boy does that make me happy. I must say it seems easier with the second child. I think because you get so used to kids crying that it really hasn't seemed that bad.

Bailey is finally catching on to the whole eating baby food thing...Thank Heavens! She is really loving it and it sure makes my life easier now that she eats.

She just has the cutest personality and we just love her so much. Not sure what we would do without her. I think we have some fun months ahead of us that is for sure!

I just feel blessed to have two healthy, beautiful kids!

St. George

We were able to go spend a few days in St. George with Chill's family this past week. Although the weather wasn't that warm, we still had so much fun and it was a much needed get away. We were able to stay with Chill's grandparents who are always so good to us. Chill's brother Brett got the privilege of driving down to St. George with us and our two kids which is always a treat. The pestering in the car has begun. Carson could not keep his hands and feet of of Bailey. I thought to myself...what is it going to be like when we have a few more kids?

We spent a day in Zions driving and hiking around. The kids did great. Carson couldn't have been happier being outside where it was warm and Bailey was just a trooper. She was happy and barely made a peep all day. I haven't been to Zions since I was in Jr. High, so it was really fun to go back.

Chill's parents were able to come on Friday and the boys of course got some golfing in and the girls got to shop. The boys were able to take Carson on Saturday to put around and he thought it was great. I think we have a future golfer on our hands.

We swam, played cards, and had a great time. We definitely need to go back soon. It was just nice that Chill had a few days off of work and could relax and have a good time.

My Little Man

Sometimes I feel like I neglect Carson a little bit because I am always putting stuff about Bailey on the blog. Carson keeps us laughing daily. He is so much fun and he is quick and witty. He is also pretty good at using us to get what he wants. A few weeks ago he was eating his breakfast and we had this converstaions

Carson: "Okay I can have a cookie now."

Me: "um...no not right now."

Carson: "But I ate all my breakfast so I can have a cookie."

Me: "Did dad say you could have a cookie after breakfast?"

Carson: "Yep he did."

So I gave him a cookie just as Chill was walking in the kitchen

Me: "Did you say Carson could have a cookie if he ate all his breakfast?"

Chill: "No"

Then Chill proceeds to talk to Carson about lying and how it isn't good and Carson says, "Lions aren't good." Chill talked to him for a few more minutes and I finally just said it wasn't worth it because he wasn't getting it.

Next Morning...

Carson: "I can have a cookie now becasue I ate all my breakfast and I didn't say a lie!!!"

How do you not give the kid a cookie after that. So of course he got a cookie! Don't worry, we did not make that a habit. Luckily that morning he ate the last one.

Carson has also been taking a little gymnasics class and is loving it. He is the smallest in the class and so he has a hard time doing some of the things, but it is good for us to get out of the house and do something fun.

A few weeks ago Chill was out of town and Carson was talking to him on the phone. When I walked into the bedroom Carson was on the bed holding a picture of him and Chill telling Chill all about it. It was a very serious conversation he was having. He is too funny.

Carson loves flashlights and especially the his little head lamp. Last night he asked me if he could put in on to go to bed. Anything to get him to bed right? He put it on and went to bed (Yes he still sleeps on the floor in our room) I came in about 20 minutes later and he was sound asleep with the head lamp on.

Bet You Can't Guess Who his Dad is...

So Caron and Chill were doing a little construction around the house and were outside using the saw. Chill ran in to get me and said, check this out. I look out and you can totally see Carson's little crack out the top of his pants. For any of you that know Chill, you know his crack is ALWAYS hanging out. It is a big joke all the time. By the time I grabbed the camera Carson had moved a little bit so you can't see it well, but I just had to laugh because Carson is so much like his dad!!!

Carson LOVES his pjs. He wears hi pjs 90% of the day. He has a lot of pajamas. I kind of have a think with jammies. Most of his pajamas have animals on them so depending on what animal he wants to be that day, those are the pjs he wears. There are days he is multiple animals and has to change his pajamas mulitple times a day. I have started to just put his clothes over his pajamas to avoid the fighting and screaming. When we get home or to my parents house the first thing to go are his clothes so he can run around in his pajamas. So if you see pictures of him and he is in his pajamas, you will now know why!

6 Months Old

It is true, our little Bailey Bug is 6 months old. Where the time went, I just don't know. I say to Chill at least 5 times a week, "Can you believe she is 6 months old already?" I guess it just seems like it has gone some much faster with her than Carson. It probably has something to do with the fact that you sit around and wait for your first child to hit all the milestones, and with the second, it happens before you even blink. Bailey is just so much fun to have around. She is such a good baby. She can be a bit dramatic at times which is a change from Carson (althought he has his moments). She just barley started eating baby food and she just really isn't that intersted. She of course wants everything we eat, but baby food...no thanks. She loves to watch Carson and thinks he is great. Carson still has his moments where I think he would rather she not be around, but for the most part he is ok with her. Bailey also loves her dad. She has this look she gets when he walks in the room, its like her little heart just melts. She of course loves me as well, but it is something about those boys! I don't really have any complaints because she has been so good. We just love her so much! She is growing like crazy and I just love that she has chubby arms and thighs. It is too cute. Things went well at the doctor. She of course was very dramatic about her shots and had to scream at the top of her lungs for a few seconds, but I always just tell her she will thank me later for keeping up on her vaccines. Ha ha!

Well you know I must admit that Valentines Day is really not my favorite holiday. I kind of feel like it is such a let down for so many people and I just hate that people get all worked up over it. Well being married makes things much better, but I still don't love it. I decided this year (and hopefully every year) I would make it fun for us. I must say by the end of the day I was quite exhausted, but we did have a lot of fun. Carson thought the whole day was great because we had so much to do.

So I had grand plans to make a big breakfast, but it just didn't happen. I had to get Bailey ready for her doctor appointment so we just had to have pancakes.

5 Months Old

Yes I did just post about Bailey being 4 months old, but she is now 5 Months Old! She is such a happy and content baby but she is quite the wiggle worm. She is so close to rolling over, but I think she is just happy where she is and is not in a hurry to go anywhere. She is getting cuter by the minute and chubbier by the day. I love all her rolls! She is getting very vocal and has started to growl this past week which makes me laugh. She absolutely loves her dad and thinks Carson is wonderful...now if we could just convince him that she is wonderful as well. He does at times have a tendency to whack in the head, leg, belly, or arm! Whichever is most convenient for him at the time. There are moments though where he is extremely sweet with her and I hope we have more moments like that in the future. She is a great sleeper and is just waking up once a night. We finally moved her out of our room and into her crib this past week, which I'll admit was a little hard on me the first few nights, but now I am loving it. Now if we could just get Carson to sleep in his room, life would be great!

We had a wonderful Holiday Season with our family and friends. We stayed busy as usual with the parites, get togethers, ect. With both our families so close, we share time with each of them and it usually works out pretty well.

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with Chill's family this year. We had a big crowd at his parents house and had yummy food. Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorites. Doesn't get much better than Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, and homemade pies. Not only was it Thanksgiving, but it was my mother in law's birthday as well which was fun to be able to celebrate with her. Carson loved the fact that he got to blow out candles with Grandma Claudia and eat cake. He loves birthdays and thinks it is his birthday anytime we are celebrating. He talks about his birthday year round!

Carson Loves every minute of the snow. For him, the more snow the better! He wears his snow boots most of the time so that no matter where we go, he can get there via the snow.

Carson got to dress up as a cow at the Ward Christmas Party. He didn't want to take the costume off and cried later that day when we told him we didn't have a cow costume for him to wear.

Making a Gingerbread House- he spent most of the time eating the icing and candy off of the house. This kid is the sugar boy. He would eat sugar morning, noon, and night if we would let him.

It was insanely busy the night we chose to go to Temple Square with our friends, but the weather was great and as always, the lights were amazing. Its always fun to get everyone together. For those that couldn't come, we missed you!

Christmas Eve Dinner at my Parents

We had dinner at my parents house and got on the webcam with Nat, Jared and their kids to open our Christmas jammies! This is the first year Nat and her family hasn't been here and we missed them so much! They better be here next year!

Christmas Eve at Grandmas Molly's

Every year Chill's family gets together at his Grandmas house on Christmas Eve. Carson was in heaven because he got a Toy Stroy 3 play hut from Grandma Molly. I'm glad we were able to make it over to spend some time with them before we headed home.

Finally back home! Luckily Carson didn't fall asleep on the way home. We read a book, put cookies out for Santa, and then it was off to bed so Santa could come visit our house!

Christmas Morning at Our House

Chill talked me into sleeping at our house and having Christmas morning with our little family. I was a little hesitant at first because I had slept at my parents every year for 26 years! I am actually really glad we did it this way because it was a lot of fun. Carson was so excited that Santa came and brought him just what he wanted....a Play Dough Farm!!! Carson also told me Santa was bringing a Doll for Bailey. Good thing Santa came through for her!

After we finished at our house, we cruised over to my parents house to open gifts with them. I talked my brother and sister into sleeping in and waiting for us...it worked out great!

It was off to Lehi to do Christmas with Chill's family. We had a fun day with his family, ate lots of treats, opened fun gifts and had a wonderful Prime Rib dinner!

New Year's Eve

We took Carson to see Tangled with Chill's family on New Years Eve, actually Carson and I kind of took everyone else since we had already seen it earlier in the week. It is such a cute movie and Carson loved it. After the movie we headed over to see our friends Nick, Morgan, and Jake. We spent the evening just chatting with them which was so fun and then made a stop at Del Taco before heading home. If it wasn't for the kids not going to bed (because it was already WAY past their bedtime), I don't think Chill and I would have made it to 12:00!! We are getting too old!

Disney on Ice

We got some free tickets to Disney on Ice from one of my good friends and I just knew Carson would love it, and he did. He was so cute about it and so excited to see Mickey, Minnie and the gang. We were able to have a fun little outing with just Carson. I think he needed it too. After it was over he told me that "Mom all my clubhouse friends were there." Man to be a kid again!

Lets Ride the Horse

Whenever we go see my dad at his shop, Carson insists they ride horses together. My dads horse is a golf club and Carsons horse is a yard stick. They have to ride up and down the hall and my dad has to right the horse in the correct way...with his hand in the air! It is too cute and dad is always such a good sport to play with him.

Yoga and Diet Pepsi

The other morning Carson woke up and said, "Mom I need Yoga and Diet Pepsi for breakfast." I was thinking to myself, okay first of all we don't have any food called yoga and second of all we never have Diet Pepsi. After a few minutes I figured it all out. He calls the yolk of an egg "yoga" and his juice "Diet Pepsi" So translation...he wanted eggs and juice for breakfast. Once I figured it out, Carson was a happy man. He always thinks he needs Diet Pepsi just like grandpa Doug. It's kind of their thing.

Should I Be Worried???

So I was at the mall last week looking for some shoes. Well Carson was sitting down on the carpet taking off his shoes. I of course was trying to get him to keep them on because I know how it goes...he takes his shoes and socks off and won't put them back on. Well he gets his shoes off and goes over and takes a pair of womens shoes off the display table and tried them on. He proceeded to do that with about 3 pairs of shoes. I just had to laugh. He was loving it. I finally had to put a stop to it when we were getting a few looks from the sales people! He keeps me laughing.

3 Months Old

Yes I do realize Bailey was 3 months old over a week and a half ago, but I'm always behind on this dang blog. Our little bug is just the cutest girl ever. She is still just an angel and we are loving every minute of it. She is so much more alert and aware of everything going on around her. She loves to watch Carson and she loves when he gives her some attention (which doesn't happen very often). I can already see some problems arising with Bailey getting older. I pulled out all the baby toys the other day and Carson insists they are all his and that he needs to play with them and not Bailey. One of Carson's favorite things right now...the little baby play mat. Everytime I put Bailey down on it you better believe Carson is right there with her. Should be intersting to see how it goes come Christmas...I'm sure poor Bailey won't get anything because Carson will claim it all. Anway life is good for us and our two kiddos. Chillin is pretty busy with work and is in the process of applying for his Fellowship in Oncology. Should be exciting to see where our next adventure is going to be on this long journey!

Halloween

I can't believe Halloween came and went! Halloween at our house was great this year. Carson loved carving pumpkins at my parents house and was even more excited when they were sitting on our porch. We had to talk about them every time we walked past them. Carson was in his words "A Trunk or Treating Cowboy" this year. He wanted to be just about everything he saw, but was more than happy being a cowboy. He wanted Chill and I to be cowboys/cowgirls as well so we decided to dress up too. Bailey was a little fairy and my sister made the most darling costume for her. The pictures really don't do it justice. She looked so cute. We had to help out at our stake Trunk or Treat so that is what we did for Halloween. The weather was crappy so we had to have it inside, but it turned out alight. I of course got to enjoy the candy because Carson loves to share with me! After the Trunk or Treat we went to Wingers with some of our friends which was a great way to end the night. Asphalt Pie is all I have to say...YUMMY!!!

So Carson's new favorite food is fish. We have been fishing a few times in the past month so Chill has been cooking up the fish and Carson eats it. I am not a huge fish fan so I am not loving it as much as Chill is, but it is funny to watch Carson. I swear he downs half a fish by himself. It is so funny to watch because he eats it faster than Chill can get it off the bones for him. I guess he is getting all the good stuff fish has to offer for brain development right? Luckily Chill now has someone to share his love of fish and seafood with! Yeah for me!

Bailey's Blessing

Chill was able to bless Bailey on Sunday October 17, 2010. It was a wonderful day. We borrowed my niece Lexi's dress and I just thought Bailey looked so pretty in it. My sister and her family weren't able to come for the blessing so it was neat to have a little piece of them with Bailey wearing the dress. Chill gave her a beautiful blessing and she didn't make a peep. She was so good and I was so happy. Carson cried through his blessing so it was a little hard to hear what Chill was saying, but this time I heard it all. We were able to have our family and friends over to our house afterward for a brunch. It was fun to see everyone and we are so thankful to everyone for their love and support. Bailey was great the entire day but I think it wore her out because she slept 8 straight hours that night! I was sure loving it!

The Big Hunt

Well you know it's that time of year again. Deer Hunting Season. You know it's a big deal to Chill when he is able to take 2 weeks off a year and one of those weeks has to be in October for the Deer Hunt. We once again traveled to Wyoming and stayed in a cabin. Now I must admit I now really look forward to this event. No not because of the hunting, but just to get away and enjoy time with Chill and his family. The weather was beautiful (it only snowed one day so I count that as beautiful). They boys had a lot of success (they got 3 deer) and Carson couldn't have been happier. I honestly didn't think I would have to worry about a 2 year old being excited about the hunt, but boy was he. He has a hunting coat which he looks so cute in and he had to have his binoculars with him wherever he went. He got to go out with the boys a few times and thought that was awesome. It was really cute to see him so excited about it all. It made the whole trip well worth it.

2 Months Old

Our little bug is already over 2 months old. It is just amazing how fast babies grow and how time flies! We are loving every minute of this little girl. She is still such a good baby. Of course we had her 2 month check up and she is sure growing. Bailey is now:

24 inches long and weighs 11.5 lbs

Yes I attribute that growth to "mamas milk" ha ha. She is a very happy baby, and gave us her first smile when she was 4 weeks old. Now at 2 months she is really smiling and it makes it all worth it. Carson just loves Bailey and although he gets a little rough with her at times, he is pretty good with her. He loves that he can make he smile and he just giggles when she does. It is fun to watch the two of them interact.

Backyard Camping

Carson and Chill had talked about camping out in the backyard all summer long and finally they did it last month. Chill finally had a Saturday off so they camped out. Carson was so excited about the whole event. They set up the tent and built a fire in the backyard so we could roast hot dogs and have smores. Dinner and smores didn't last long because Carson couldn't wait to get in the tent. I think we held him off until about 8:30 and then it was nighty night for the boys. I thought he would last a few hours out there, but to my surprise, at 7:30 am in walked the boys. Chill actually had to wake Carson up because we needed to get ready to go meet up with Chill's parents to go fishing. Carson absolutely loved it and of course wants to do it again. Maybe we'll have to set up camp in the living room since its a little too cold for a campout now!

Summer Wrap-up

I can't believe summer is over. It went by way to fast. I thought being big and pregnant I'd be happy for it to be over so I could have a baby, but I wish it could have lasted a little longer. We have been busy this past month and a half playing, playing playing. My sister and her kids were in town so we felt like we needed to fit everything in before they went home last weekend. Bear Lake this year was so fun. The weather was absolutely perfect. I took it easy the entire week because I was about 2 weeks away from my due date and really didn't want to go into labor on vacation. My family was so good to me and really just let me relax and enjoy myself. Carson had a great time and truly believed he was a cowboy and rode anything he could like a bull. Chill had to work so he was only able to be with us for a day. Jared had to stay in Florida and we missed him. Someday we'll all be able to enjoy vacations together again!!

You know I feel like we have only just begun with little accidents and Carson. So even though I was tired and worn out from being so pregnant, we decided to go to our ward party up City Creek Canyon. We knew Carson would have a great time so we went. Everything was great and we all had a great time. Well on the way home, Carson said, "My rock is in my ear." Chill and I were both like what? He said, "I put my rock in my ear." For real? Why would you put a rock in your ear, seriously. I was dying! When we got home Chill took a look and tried to get it with tweezers, but it was deep. So off we went to InstaCare. The doctor took one look and said sure enough there was a rock in there but he wasn't even going to attempt to get it and we'd have to take him to Primary Childrens to see an ENT. I was thinking that was just great and the last thing I needed. To make matters worse it was Friday night so we had to wait until Monday to get it taken care of. We couldn't do anything about it so we just went on with all that was going on and planned to take care of it Monday. We I went into labor Sunday night so while I was in the hosptial, Chill had to take Carson to get to rock out. Carson was a champ and did great while the doctor pulled it out. He got a dinosaur when he was done so he was happy. Look close at some of the pictures and you can see how dang tiny the rock was!

Well little Bailey came a day and a half earlier than I had planned. My doctor was out of town and I just really wanted him to be there. I mean I figured if he was with my for 9 months, he shouldn't miss the party right? Well Bailey had other plans and she came! Sunday was like any other Sunday, went to church, napped, hung out at my parents for dinner, went home, and went to bed. About 1 am I woke up and could not sleep. I was in some pain, but didn't want to believe I was in labor. Chill was working over night at the hospital, so it was just me and my little buddy Carson. Once I realized I might be in labor I jumped in the shower and did my hair and my make up. I was not able to have this baby without looking presentable. I decided to pack my bag, get the cameras ready and call Chill to let him know what was going on. We decided I'd head to the hospital to get thing checked out and then go from there. I called my parents at 3 am and they came right away. My dad stayed with Carson and my mom took me to the hospital. I was kind of in a bad mood because I did not want to be in labor. I told the receptionist, "I think I'm in labor but I don't want to be" everyone was really sweet at the hospital and they broke the news very nicely that I was definitely in labor and was a 5 and 90% thinned. So I had to come to terms with the fact that Bailey was coming and coming soon. I called Chill and he had to wrap things up at work. Luckily they didn't break my water until he got there because he wouldn't have made it. After they broke my water I progressed really fast. When I was fully dialated it took all of a minute to get Bailey out. 1 contraction and 4 pushes and out slipped our little cutie! Everything went great and the whole experience was wonderful. It was pretty fun that I had her on 8/9/10 at 9:08 and she was 7lbs 6 oz so I guess numbers were on my side that day...8,9,10,9,8,7.6. Kind of fun!

After Bailey was born we had to fit in a few more things before summer was over and before Nat and the kids went home. We hit the Bees game where Carson got a fly ball (okay the people behind us caught it but gave it to him. They also gave him a little bat and he was on cloud 9) we went to the zoo, the aquarium, Kangaroo Zoo, the dinosaur museum, the gardens at Thanksgiving Point and of course much much more. We had a great summer and are enjoying every minute of our little Bailey

Well we are just loving our little baby. She is such a good baby. Carson has been so good with her, other than he loves to bounce her on the bed, play ball with her (he just really wants her to be able to throw it back to him), get her out of her carseat, and be a little wild around her. He is really sweet with her though and he loves to hold her (for about a minute and then he's good for another couple hours). Bailey is such a calm baby. This is so different for us because Carson was a little high maintenence. She is a good eater and a good sleeper so we are feeling really lucky (so far anyway, they can always change right?) We took her to her 2 month appointment and she is just a healthy growing baby and we are loving every minute of it.

Our little one made her big arrival on Monday morning. Everything went great and happened really quick. We love her so much already and think she is just the cutest thing ever! We are home now and starting to adjust to life as a family of 4. Carson is a proud big brother, but we are interested to see how things go when he realizes she is staying for good!
