Happy Birthday Chill!
Friday, April 2, 2010
We've had a busy few weeks celebrating birthdays in our house. Chill's birthday was on March 17th but the festivities lasted for a week. We had to celebrate with my family, Chill's family, and of course our little family. Chill has been super busy during this rotation so our celebrations were quick but fun. Then on March 31st Carson turned 2 years old. I can't belive our little man is growing up. Seems so crazy and it makes me want to cry, but I just love him so much. He says and does the funniest things right now and I am really enjoying this age. I'm afraid though now that he is 2 something will happen and that "terrible twos" will come out! We had a big party on March 28th with our extended family and then we did a little pizza party, cake and more presents on his birthday. Carson was great and enjoyed every minute of it. I took him to the dr. yesterday for his check up and he was a CHAMP! This is the first time we have gone without crying. We talked about it before we got there and I told him what was going to happen and after it was all over Carson said, "I was so brave." Carson and I both got flu shots as well and after his shot he got a sucker so he was a happy camper. After I got my shot Carson looked at the nurse and said, "Mommy sucker too?" I was just laughing. He's always looking out for me. Carson is still just a skinny mini weighing in at a whoppin 23.5 lbs! He has put on a whole 4 lbs in the past year. I'm not complaining because he is still really easy to lug around! We also had another break through this past month, Carson has gone to the nursery for 2 weeks in a row without crying. I seriously can't believe we made it. I thought for sure I'd still be hanging out in the nursery when the new baby gets here. Going back to nursery when I'm 26 years old wasn't really what I had in mind for myself. Thanks to some awesome nursery leaders who have worked wonders with him, I have been able to enjoy Sunday School again for the first time in 2 years. My little secret is... Carson is obsessed with gum right now so I send him with his blanket and a piece of GUM in his mouth and an extra one in his pocket. It has worked like a charm.
