One Big Tree

It's that time of year again-time to get a Christmas tree. We have a little tradition with Chillin's family and we go on a big adventure and cut down our own tree. We haven't been able to go the past couple of years so I was excited that we could make it. I was really excited when I found out the weather was going to be good. I HATE to be wet and cold. It's just not my thing. Chill was working so Carson and I rode up with Chillin's mom and brother. He made the trip up to the Uintahs and had a great time. Carson looked so cute in his snow suit but it reminded me a little of A Christmas Story. I had the poor kid all bundled up. Carson got to ride on a snowmobile for the first time and of course had a blast. He loves to ride on things that go fast. Carson spent much of the day with Grandpa Doug and he couldn't have been happier. Claudia and Doug cut down a tree for us and it was one big tree. We had to cut most of it off, but it still looks great. I just love the smell of real trees in my house. Chill made it up right about the time we were heading out. We went to Chill's aunts cabin to sit by the fire and eat some soup.

We hurried home so that we could spend the evening with my family celebrating Nat and Jared's birthday. We of course went to Robintinos for dinner then had yummy cupcakes and opened presents. It was so fun to have them home so that we could celebrate. They weren't hear long enough, but they will be back in the middle of December for Christmas.

Yummy Yummy Turkey

All I can say is Yum! Thanksgiving this year was wonderful. We spent Thanksgiving at my parents house and we had a great day. It was so fun for all of us to be together. My brother came from Idaho and my sister and her family made the LONG drive from Arizona. Carson and I spent Wednesday night at my parents (Chill was of course on call at the hospital) and we all stayed up way too late catching up. On Thanksgiving day we all helped get everything together and I made a sweet potato casserole which was tasty! I had it pretty easy I'd say. The turkey turned out just perfect and we all ate way too much. I just love the holidays and can't wait for Christmas!

It seems like every few months I start thinking I need to make a trip to Arizona to see my sister and her family. My friend (Sarge aka Michelle) called me one day and said she had the first week of November off so we hurried and booked a flight to Pheonix. Sarge and I haven't been on a trip together for over 4 years. It was definitely time. It was so warm in AZ so we hit the pool on day and did a little shopping. I spent much of the 5 days laughing non stop. We had so much fun. Sarge and I are a lot to handle when we are together and I'm sure Nat felt like she was caring for 5 kids while we were there. Carson was in heaven because he was with Lexi and Beans for 5 days. He was Lexi's little shadow. Carson and Beans tolerate each other but we had to keep a close eye on them because those dang boys can be a little mean. Carson pushes and Beans bites. Someday I'm sure they will be the best of friends. Nat and Jared are so good to us and make it so much fun. I'm sad because I didn't take very many pictures, but we stayed busy and had a great time.

Once again I am WAY late on posting! Halloween weekend was a busy one for us but way fun. I tried to get Carson real exciting about it but obviously he is still a little young to get it. He loved to cruise around the house in his dinosaur costume, but once it was time to put it on for all the events he wasn't so sure about it. He looked so cute though and he loved that his costume had a big belly. Chill and I didn't dress up...I know party poopers, but hey there is always next year.

Anyway Friday we went out to Lehi for Chill's parents Halloween Pary Trunk or Treat and also for to celebrate Doug's birthday. Carson didn't really get into the whole trunk or treat thing because he was too busy eating each piece of candy. I really wanted him to get some for me too, but I think we ended up with maybe 12 pieces of candy. All in all we had a great time!!

On Saturday we headed out to my parents to carve pumpkins. Carson of course loved the knives and thought the goo in middle of the pumpkin was great and covered the kitchen with it. We once again hit up my parents ward trunk or treat and the experience was much the same as the day before. Carson ate candy while I walked him around trying to get some for myself. We went back to my parents and helped pass out candy and glow sticks.

I can't wait until Carson is a little older and can really get into Halloween. It will make it so much fun.
